Just though I would start a list for fun. Not all the picture books of course, but the ones that take more time to get through. I'm sure I won't remember them all straight off, and I plan to add as we go, so this is definitely a work in progress. The dates are when we finished (if I remember). Some of these I read to them, some we listened to on tape or CD in the car. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! I would recommend all we've read unless otherwise noted.

I firmly believe in the importance of reading aloud to your children, no matter how old they are. The education benefits are immense, and if nothing else it's just nice to curl up together and read.

That's great. I should make a list of the ones we have read. WE don't have as many, but for a few years I've been reading on and off and for the last year I've tried to keep it up. We are reading "The Fledgling" right now and I plan to do "Carry On Mr. Bowditch" right after. I also want to read President Hinckley's book with the kids. We tend to be reading lots of books with a female heroine and I've been looking for ones with a male. Nathan says he doesn't mind at all, but I'd still like to find some balance. I think we'll do "Where the Red Fern Grows" soon. In our van, to and from school, we've been enjoying the "Anne of Green Gables" series. The reader is so great. I feel like we get so much reading in that way. We all enjoy it so much. Thanks for the list. I'll visit again as I need a new title!
